Poleana MX
Only for those who can handle the rigor
Clandestine Edition — Official Rules
Poleana is Mexico’s most unforgiving strategy board game: 4 players, 4 pieces each, and 112 squares where skill decides who wins and the dice are just the starting point. This is the official rules guide for PoleanaMX, the real-time multiplayer digital version where mistakes cost you and victories are earned.
The Manifesto
"Luck is for the mediocre; Poleana is for strategists."
This is not a board game to pass the time. It is a test of character. Here, the board is not your friend and the interface will not save you from your own stupidity. If you want a game that holds your hand, go back to Parcheesi. Here you come to win with guts and precision, or to be humiliated by a miscalculation.
Do you feel capable, or are you just here to take up space?
Launch: Getting Out of the Mud
Your pieces are rotting in jail and only those with vision know how to free them. Don't expect charity.
The system will detect your rookie mistake and your most advanced piece will be sent back to start. You have the trigger; you decide if you shoot yourself in the foot.
The Iron Law — Mandatory Hierarchy
At this table, order is not a suggestion. It is the only law that keeps you from being a loser. If you ignore the hierarchy, the board takes control from you.
① Hunt (Capture)
If you have a rival in range, you execute them. No mercy or "waiting strategies". If you spare a life when you have the move, the board punishes you for being a coward.
② Deploy (Start)
If there's no prey, but you can get a piece out of jail, you must do it. Don't stay hidden.
③ Maneuver (Move)
Only if you have no captures or pending exits are you allowed to move your active pieces.
If you try to move before capturing, an error message will remind you of your lack of courage and your best token will return to jail. Mistakes are costly here.
Hostile Interface: Freedom to Fail
Unlike mediocre games that block buttons, here you have total freedom to ruin your game.
When you violate the code, a pop-up will throw the broken rule in your face before sending your token to oblivion. Learn to play or step aside for someone who knows how.
High-Risk Maneuvers
The 6+3 Sentence
If the dice land on <dice/> when exiting, there is no room for doubt: exit with the 6 and advance with that same 3. Trying to split that move is admitting you don't know the code.
The board detects it and sends you back to the mud.
Pairs and the Double Turn
Rolling pairs is a privilege, but it's also where those with cold blood are revealed. The <button/> button is there in case the dice leave you stuck (physical impossibility).
If you use it too much, the game takes your piece for trying to dodge your responsibility.
Blood Bonus (+10)
Every time you hunt an opponent, you steal <spaces/> from their destiny. Those 10 points go to the piece that did the dirty work. Use them or prepare for the error.
The rival goes crying to jail; you advance with their loot.
